In case you had not been following Google’s I/O Conference , you probably do not know that the conference saw the unveiling of Froyo. Froyo is Android 2.2, the Android OS’s latest version. Google demonstrated Froyo at the conference and explained the great new changes made to the OS. The key focus has been on overall system speed.
Most Android cellphones released in 2010 will get Android 2.2. However no estimated date of arrival has yet been released. Google has, none the less, begun favoring Nexus One owners.
The company has decided to start rolling out Froyo for its own cellphone owners i.e. Nexus One owners. The OS is available via Over-the-Air download. In case you are not able to get it right now, no need to worry – the release process is still under way; check back later to see the OS’s availability.
