Just minutes ago at the Microsoft Xbox 360 E3 event, Microsoft’s Don Mattrick has unveiled a smaller, slimmer Xbox 360 redesign that features a 250GB HDD, built-in Wi-Fi 802.11N, and a shiny black gloss finish to match the Xbox 360 Kinect.
The new machine will not be bundled with Kinect, however, until the holiday season, as connect doesn’t officially launch in North America until Nov.4th.
This new Xbox 360 will be available for $299, the current price of the Xbox Elite, which will now see a price drop to $249. The Xbox Arcade console will also see a price drop upon the release of the new machine.
There isn’t much more information about the specs of the device, but I’m sure we will hear more soon as the new Xbox 360 will begin shipping today and be available through retailers by the end of the week. Although we will most likely hear more before then, as lucky attendees of the event got the new machine shipped to them free of charge.
We will be keeping you updated on any major announcements coming out of E3 all week long.
