Apple’s next generation iPhone, iPhone 4 is all set to launch on 24^th June. Even though we have very less information about OS and baseband version iPhone 4 will be having but rumors suggest that it will likely run recently launched iOS 4.0 having baseband 05.13.04. Getting factory unlocked iPhone 4 isn’t that difficult compared to iPhone 3G/3GS as many countries like UK, France, Canada and many more will be getting factory unlocked phone.

Hence Factory unlocked iPhone 4 doesn’t need much discussion on unlocking however iPhone 4 jailbreaking may be required to take full advantage of all the iPhone 4 features and hardware benefits where Apple is known to be purposely blocking certain features & imposing  restriction via its proprietary software iOS.

For e.g iPhone 4 facetime video calling will only support wifi and will not use your carrier at all, this may be money saving but won’t be useful when you are not in wifi range, that’s where jailbreaking may help us.

As of now we have Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 and Pwnagetool 4.0.1 to jailbreak iOS 4.0 on iPhone 3G & iPhone 3GS. If iPhone 4 comes with same iOS 4.0 then we might be able jailbreak iPhone 4 with any of these tools. Also the possibility of custom iOS 4.0 firmware can’t be discarded.

So overall scenario looks positive and we are sure iPhone Dev Team will be able to jailbreak iPhone 4 4.0 iOS as soon it come out.
