While its not exactly confirmed by Apple yet, it seems that Lima Sky, developers of extremely popular platformer iPhone app Doodle Jump, believe they are the first to reach the 5 million download mark from the iTunes App Store. At 99 cents per download, that’s around 3 million dollars in the developer’s pocket after the 70/30 revenue sharing deal with Apple.
Doodle Jump has received a ton of attention in order to reach this milestone, including a mentions from Jimmy Fallon, Lady Gaga, and many great reviews from popular tech sites, allowing it to remain in the 25 best-selling apps list for more than a year.
It has taken the creators of the app, brothers Marko and Igor Pusenjak, a little over a year in the App Store to reach this incredible milestone. The brothers say they have quit their jobs and now dedicate their time to creating updates and themes for Doodle Jump. They also say an iPad optimized version of the game is currently in development.
