Korean players of Blizzards most popular franchise, World of Warcraft, will be happy to learn that the developer is now offering their latest title, StartCraft II, for completely free!
While this is obviously a move to boost the popularity of the title in Korea, it’s also a look into future plans for developer Blizzard. The developer announced during a StarCraft II event in Seoul that all Koreans with an active WoW account would be able to play the title for free, which was described as the developer as “a way of giving something back to such a supportive and skilled community of players.”
Ordinarily, the title would cost Koreans 69,000 won, or USD $57, with monthly or daily passes costing an extra 9,900 won or 2,000 won.
Do you think Blizzard should be offering this promotion to World of Warcraft players outside of Korea?
