In just few hours of iOS 4.1 beta release we had way to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G non-mc models with Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5. However there is no way to unlock iOS 4.1 yet. If Apple patches the exploit used in Ultrasn0w 0.93 to unlock iOS 4.0 on iPhone 3G/3GS then it could take more time to iPhone dev team to come up with new working unlock tool.

Sn0wbreeze 1.8 Beta will allow iPhone 3GS/3G users to create custom firmware for iOS 4.1 there by retaining baseband to unlock iPhone with Ultrasn0w 0.93 provided that you are on jailbroken iOS 4.0.
