Apple has officially released iOS 4.0.1 to the public, available for download now through iTune’s iPhone Software Update. The only thing the update fixes is the “formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display”.
As part of the update the actual size of the signal strength bars have been made taller as well in order to make for easier reference. Below is a graph from our friends at Gizmodo illustrating the changes in the signal strength bar size.Unfortunately, these updates will do little to address the iPhone 4’s antenna and reception issues. iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4 users can grab the iOS 4.0.1 update through iTunes now.
