We heard about the Firefox Home app a little while ago and there was some speculation about whether or not Apple would allow the content management and syncing app that seemingly does a much better job than other solutions currently available. The app allows you to sync desktop Firefox browsing sessions with your iPhone.
The Firefox Home iPhone app is available for free donwload now from iTunes, and will allow you to view “Firefox history, bookmarks and open tabs, just as you had left them on your desktop computer.” Below is an explanation of exactly how the app works from the official Mozilla Blog.
- Install Firefox Sync, a free add-on for Firefox, on your desktop.
- Restart Firefox and follow prompts to create an account with both a password and a secret phrase.
- Go the App Store on your iPhone and search for “Firefox Home” or install it directly fromiTunes.
- Launch Firefox Home on your iPhone. You’ll be prompted to enter your Firefox Sync account info. Enter your username, password and Secret Phrase and tap “Done.”
