Yes the news making rounds is official now. The official Google phone Nexus One will no longer be available officially. Nexus One, to put in layman’s terms is out of stock.
Google had warned last week only about the last shipment of Nexus One. And going true by its words, the online store has stopped selling the phone from today. If you stay in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain or United Kingdom, you can grab your Nexus One directly from Vodaphone with a service plan. You might as well get the phone from any auction sites, but with double the price tag (obvious for any device with shortage on ebay etc).
Stopping the official Android phone is posing a threat in the market currently. Google no longer sells a device with Android 2.2 (Froyo). There is also no handset in the market by other manufacturers which comes officially with Android 2.2 and there is no official news as to when the handsets running on the latest Android will hit the market.
So for now if you didn’t got ownership of a Nexus One, you cannot have any other phone running on Android which supports Flash 10.1, Hotspot or the default browser.
