Sony recently released PS3 Firmware update 3.41 for the PlayStation 3, which added a new “You May Like” to the PSN PlayStation Store. While a little annoying for many who didn’t enjoy the new feature, it seemed harmless enough. Now it seems like many PS3 users are experiencing issues when trying to upgrade their hard drive as shown in the video embedded below.
Apparently PS3 owners are getting a “no applicable data” error after installing the update. This has caused a number of issues from a corrupted drive, and in some cases a non-functioning console. Many are speculating this is simply a bug that will be addressed in yet another firmware update, while others are spreading rumors this might be Sony blocking hard drive upgrades. We’ll keep you posted on a fix for the problem when Sony makes an official announcement.
