MIT students Andrew Sugaya and Jong-Moon Kim have released Teevox, a new iPhone app that allows you to remotely control Netflix and Hulu content on your computer. While there are certainly many similar apps already on the App Store, developer Jong-Moon Kim notes,
“While there are hundreds, if not thousands of iPhone remote apps. If you take a closer look, you’ll notice they all require proprietary hardware (Apple TV, Boxee) or separate software you need to download and install.”
After downloading the free app from the App Store, you can log in on your computer here. From there all you will have to do is enter a 4 -digit code in order to connect your device to your computer. With no need to download other desktop software or anything else to make the remote control app work, this is definitely one of the easier remote controls for Hulu and Netflix.
The developers note they are working to implement other services into the remote control and said we can expect from Teevox related announcements in the coming weeks.
