The Google Mobile iPhone app has just received an iOS update brining Google Calendar and Gmail push notifications. This will surely lure many gmail users away from the native mail.app client as, up until now only MobileMe (and Yahoo) have been able to push emails to iPhones.
The push notifications in the newly updated Google Mobile app work with both custom domain and gmail.com domains, and can be set to icon badge notifications or pop up notifications as shown in the image above. There are also supposed to be some other features included in the latest update including real-time search for currency conversion, flight info, weather, and stocks.
You can get the updated Google Mobile app from the iTunes App Store now.
