We reported earlier on a rumor about a possible new Xbox 360 controller that would address issues some players have with the current D-pad. Now, Microsoft is confirming and showing off their newly redesigned controller that features a “transforming” directional pad.
As you can see in the demonstration video below, the d-pad transforms from the current flush disc design, to a more traditional, popped-out “plus-sign” design by turning the d-pad itself. The controller also features A,B,X,Y buttons that are various shades of grey, opposed to the traditional blue, green, yellow, red.
The new Xbox 360 controller will be available only in the new Play & Charge Kit that will launch on November 9th for $64.99.
