Apple TVs on Track to Ship By End of September

ADVERTISEMENTS

The latest iteration of Apple’s self-described “hobby” project, the Apple TV, was introduced on September 1st at the Apple music event. During the event, Steve Jobs only said the new device would be available for pre-orders immediately with shipping slated for sometime in September. Today, it appears that those brave enough to pre-order the new Apple TV are being charged.

This would normally mean the device would ship within a day or two and get in the hands of customers by the end of the month. However, some pre-order customers are claiming their account status gives a shipping date of Oct.12th with delivery on Oct.18th.

The new Apple TV comes with a price tag of $99 and features the Apple A4 processor, built in 802.11n Wi-Fi (a/b/g compatible), and HDMI and Optical audio ports, with a weight of 0.6 pounds.
