Almost year after Google release the first version of their Google Goggles visual search feature for Android users via the Android Market, they have now released the feature for the Google Mobile app for iPhone.
Google Goggles allows you to take a picture of an object and get direct search results within the app. As the official demo video below shows, it works best with “landmarks, books, DVDs, wine, and artwork”. The feature works by using your iPhone’s auto-focusing camera, and this unfortunately means its only available for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 users
Google Goggles is only available to English-speaking users currently, but the video notes the feature will be gradually “appearing in all App Stores around the world starting from today.”
