Apple held its earnings call today to detail their profits and sales over the past quarter. Some of the highlights of the press conference include 14.1 million iPhones sold in those three months, and record $20 billion in revenue, and $4.3 billion in profit. On top of those staggering figures, Apple has also announced there has been a total of over 125 million iOS devices including iPod touches, iPhones, and iPads sold.
Some of the more interesting news to come out of the earnings call below:
- Over 35,000 iPad apps in App Store now
- iOS 4.2 still slated for November release
- There are no plans for a 7 inch iPad
- 250,000 Apple TVs sold in 18 days
During the press conference, Apple CEO Steve Jobs also promised that they, “Still have a few surprises left for the remainder of this calendar year.” This of course is leading many to believe that there will be at least one major product launch before the holidays. Jobs also went on a rant about the difference between iOS and Android, and the Open vs Closed argument, which can be heard in the audio clip embedded below.
