When Apple introduced their new social networking feature “Ping” in iTunes 10.0.1, Genius recommendations were removed from the software’s sidebar to make room for Ping. However, it appears that Apple has decided to rename the Ping sidebar to the “iTunes Sidebar”, and have it include both Ping and Genius Recommendations.
This is definitely something most users will be happy about, as it appears most users get more use out of Genius Recommendations than the new Ping social networking feature.
