Many recent rumors claim Apple has plans to increase iTunes song previews to 60 seconds from the current 30 seconds. However, a press release sent to record labels today shows the company will be going even further and offering 90 second previews in the near future.
Most people agree that the current 30 second previews was often not sufficient when trying to decide whether or not to purchase a song. However, not many expected Apple to be so generous with increasing the preview length. The press release only mentions the U.S. iTunes store, no news on whether or not all users will eventually have access to the extended previews.
