Amazon partners with Facebook to reach out for the fans and customers who want to stay in touch with their special ones. The online giant announced today a new way of sending Gift Cards from Amazon.com to friends and family on Facebook. Customers have been provided the facility to connect their Facebook account on Amazon.com, while creating a personalized gift which would be delivered to the recipient’s Facebook Wall. Amazon’s smart move would make sending gifts to loved ones more easier and that too just in time for the holiday season arriving.
In a press release, Amazon mentioned:
Sending gift cards has never been easier and we’re excited to offer the Facebook option just in time for the holidays.
Users are welcomed to the Amazon’s page once they login via their Facebook account. They are provided with a wide variety of card designs which they can choose while specifying an amount up to $5000 and also adding an optional gift card message. Furthermore, the sender can schedule the date for the gift card to appear on the recipient’s Facebook Wall, almost an year in advance.
Michal Geller, Director ACI Gift Cards (Exclusive Issuer of Amazon.com Gift Cards), told:
We think our customers who use Facebook will be thrilled that we’ve made gift-giving more social. Sending gift cards has never been easier and we’re excited to offer the Facebook option just in time for the holidays.
While announcing the new mechanism of giving gifts, Amazon is also offering users with a “Give 5, Get $5” Promotion for a limited period. First 10,000 customers who give an MP3-themed Amazon.com Gift Card to five different friends will get a $5 credit.
