Creative announced plans to launch a pair of Android Tablets tagged as the ZiiO Pure Wireless Entertainment Tablets as well as a handheld media player called the Zen Touch 2 Wireless Entertainment Device. Creative seems to have been bit by the Android Bug too, as the new line of products will run on the Google Android Mobile Operating System. Creative’s ZiiO Tablet comes in 7-inch and 10-inch versions, delivering a screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and 1024 x 600 pixels, respectively. The tablets would deliver either 8GB or 16GB capacities, with Creative marking its presence known in the Tablet World.
Creative new line of series are based on Android 2.1 (Eclair) with the inclusion of Creative X-Fi Technology. With the company’s vast experience on delivering the best on sound for years, the company claims a superior audio experience and seamless Bluetooth stereo pairing.
To punch in the fun, ZiiO allows users to download apps from the internet as well as the new ZiiStore.
The Handheld Media Player, the Zen Touch 2, is a portable device also running on Android 2.1. The tablet sports a 3.2-inch touchscreen display while also fitted with X-Fi Technology. The device features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel camera and microSD card slot in 8GB and 16GB capacities, available at an attractive price of US$215 and US$250.
The Tablets would be available from the Creative Online Store at the end of December and at the stores from January 2011.
