Apple started accepting app submissions for the forthcoming Mac App Store, which is being tagged to be launched within the next few months. The word became official after Apple sent out an email to registered developers, announcing the formation of the Mac App Store along with accepting submissions to mark its opening. This is surely a great step for the developers as well as for Apple Mac users as thousands of Mac Apps would provide both business and fun. For those of you who haven’t been emailed or developers who haven’t registered, the announcement read something like:
The Mac App Store will be opening soon. You can get ready by submitting your Mac apps for review now. Log in to the Mac Dev Center for details on setting up an iTunes Connect account, creating Apple-issued Mac Distribution Certificates, and preparing your apps for the review process.
Recently announced, the Mac App Store was unveiled to public at a conference held in October. Apple has already setup a developer resource page which includes assistance for those plotting Mac apps.
Apple has implemented the same review process which has been previously present for the iPhone and the iPad. No official date was available for the Mac App Store to hit the web waves but as if we follow the ”Back To the Mac” conference, Jobs announced that the store would be made available withing 90 days.
