Internet search giant, Google, seems to be running a long highway. The company is flying sky-high as every other day we see a product or an update being announced. Developers are hard at work with hopes to deliver and achieve the very best out of each product. Google announced that it would rolling out new ways of searching for products which will make the company more competitive in the online shopping market. The company would present an improved version of its shopping service called the Google Product Search, later this year.
Just a few days back, the internet giant unveiled a product called Google Place Search which presented the ability to produce location based results. Successfully running the feature across various places, the company planned to make its shopping site much competitive in the world of web shopping. The company’s move is recorded as becoming a key player against the more dominated sites including Amazon and eBay.
Google Product Search would act as a purpose built feature which would make it easier for users to look for goods like clothes, gift items, electronic goods, gadgets and much more.
Google’s new feature would use the image-recognition technology adopted from Like.com, which is a comparison-shopping site Google purchased back in August. The search feature helps users look for goods based on color and other physical attributes.
Google has been updating its the features for its product search for over an year now. Google has added product reviews, user ratings as well as making visible the availability of products in local stores. Google also introduced a mobile application called the Google Shopper which helps users get information on products they see in the stores.
Google Product Search was officially launched in the U.S. in 2007, later expanding operations in Asian and European countries. The company recorded popularity as more than 200,000 domestic and foreign retailers joined hands.
