Are you one of the millions nowadays that send and receive hundreds of SMS text messages a day? I am sure there are a lot of you that do, could be for buisness or work, or whatever. But if you’re one of those people that text like crazy, here’s a new Android application that’s getting some attention for unique functionality.
SMS2PC takes all of your SMS text messages, and streams them onto your desktop, where you can read and respond without ever picking up your phone. Basically SMS2PC is a two part app. The first part is the Android app, which can be found on the Android Market. Once installed on your Android phone, the second part is the desktop client. The developer has done a great job supporting all platforms. There’s a Windows, Mac, and Linux client to download.
Once both programs are installed, for the most part you are good to go. SMS2PC does a great job pairing your phone with the desktop client. For all this to work you need to make sure you have a either a WiFi network connection or a data connection.
Almost instantly, all of your text messages are forwarded to your desktop, where you can easily read and reply to all messages. It really makes things a whole lot easier. You can send out texts twice as fast now, all without ever using your Android phone. Developer Scott Straughan did a great job, if you find yourself texting more than the next person, I guarantee this app save you a lot of time and hassle.
As of right now the SMS2PC currently costs $3.95, but in a recent blog post, the developer has decided to make this project open source. So in about 2 weeks SMS2PC will be free on the Android Market. In the meantime you can download the SMS2PC desktop client at his site.
