Wow, the day a lot of us have been waiting for, might finally be here. We almost here. Google has just sent out the invites and confirmed the event. Google has announced the event will take place in San Francisco on December 7, and Google has promised “exciting news about Chrome.”
Various sources are speculating that it will be the unveiling of the Google Chrome netbook we have been hearing about for a little while now. Maybe the event will focus on the new upcoming Chrome Web Apps store, which coincides with the latest update to the Chrome web browser.
There’s also a good chance that Google will unveil both of those on Tuesday. Let’s not forget that the actual Google Chrome OS is still in the early beta stages, so I doubt there will be much focus on the actual operating system.
There have been rumors swirling around the Google branded Chrome netbook for the past few months. DigiTimes had reported back in early November that Chrome netbook would be ready a December launch. But it isn’t all good news.
Engadget believes that the event will be about the Chrome netbook, but their sources say that the actual netbook wont be a mass produced or publicly available device. They hear that only 65,000 units will be available “to Google’s closest ‘friends and family’.”
Whatever Google has in store for us on Tuesday, it should be interesting, and it should fun. We will have all the news from the event, right here on BlogsDNA.
