Free iPhone 3GS anyone? Best Buy, the leading technology store, confirmed via Twitter that it will temporarily drop the price of Apple’s iPhone 3GS to free for Friday only. The store would offer the smart gadget as part of its ongoing free smartphone promotions.
The rumor was already on the web since yesterday about Best Buy offering the iPhone 3GS for free along with a two-year AT&T contract, with the electronics retail giant confirming the news today via the social network.
Best Buy retails the Apple smartphone at a regular price of $499.99 while charging $99.99 with users signing up for a two year contract. A week back, Best Buy announced that it would offer “free” smartphones through the month of December.
Apple products have always been on the back-end while such a offer being announced. This totally comes up as a surprise with Best Buy offering an Apple gadget specially the iPhone 3GS 8GB.
Best Buy has yet to confirm on any details but one thing was known that the offer will only be extended to new customers as well as for those who want to add additional lines to their plan or qualify for upgrades. Furthermore, Best Buy stores have limited inventory levels to support the promotion.
