Apple is giving the final touches to the Mac App Store for third-party developers, with the service scheduled to go live January 6. Apple’s developer website made an update to the news and announcements area reminding programmers that Mac Apps must be submitted by December 31st, 2010.
The news announcement titled “Mac App Store Opens January 6″, which is no surprise to the developers who have already received a note on the launch. The much awaited Mac App Store would unveil thousands of Apps designed specifically for the Mac, with apps both for business and fun.

By bringing the revolutionary App Store experience to Mac OS X, the Mac App Store makes discovering, purchasing, and downloading Mac apps easier than ever, and provides you with the best place to distribute your Mac apps.
Furthermore, Apple welcomed:
Be a part of the grand opening of the Mac App Store and take advantage of this exciting opportunity to reach new customers. Build, test, and compile your apps with Xcode 3.2.5, them submit for review no later than Friday, December 31 at 5 PM PST.
Apple also revealed that the iTunes Connect will be down from December 23 – December 28. During this time, users would not be able to submit apps to the App store.
