Back in December, Google announced the world’s first smartphone, powered by the latest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, the Google Nexus S. This handset is currently available only in two countries – US and UK. But we have a good news for those who were eagerly waiting for the launch of the amazing Nexus S in their own country.
Vodafone recently announced that, the company will soon launch the powerful Nexus S in 24 countries in the coming days. This is definitely a good news for most of us, but the name of those 24 countries have not been announced yet. Vodafone will sell both the black and white color variant of the Nexus S in those countries.
DJ Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Sales & Marketing Team at Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business, said: “I am very pleased to introduce this amazing mobile experience to Vodafone’s customers. Nexus S integrates Samsung’s best-in-class hardware and technology with Android’s stunning new features and user experiences. Nexus S enables users to enjoy the latest mobile technology and faster multimedia content with an intuitive user experience.”
We are still not sure, if the device will come with Super AMOLED display or the Super Clear LCD display. Vodafone Germany has confirmed that, the device will ship with the Super clear LCD display in Germany. It is also rumored that, Vodafone might launch this smartphone in India. Lets keep our fingers crossed!
The price of this handset have not been announced yet, but it is expected to be available for free on contract. Vodafone is currently taking pre-orders of Nexus S in Australia. This handset will be soon launched in Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Australia, France and Russia.
