Yesterday at Mobile World congress, Microsoft unveiled the complete roadmap of what it had planned for Windows Phone 7 this year. But the most interesting thing that caught our attention was the seamless integration of Windows Phone 7 and Xbox Kinect. As demoed flawlessly, your new Windows Phone 7 may as well play up as an additional controller to the otherwise controller free gaming of Xbox Kinect.
Microsoft Game Studios showed off two women using their Windows phones to shoot balls in the Rally Ball game that a man was playing on the Kinect. From the video it is clear that Kinect and phone are working in real-time, our guess is over Wi-Fi. This is infact not porting of Kinect motion sensing to the phone, but the input of player from the phone being added to a Kinect game. The type of synchronizing showed in the video could open endless possibilities of cross platform multiplayer gaming. We leave you with the video itself to see the real deal:
