Finally the wait is over. Now you do not have to be a loyal Google or AOSP (Android Open Source Project) fan and have to get a phone with stock Android ROM as Nexus One or Nexus S to taste the exotic experience of Gingerbread. CyanogenMod 7 Release Candidate has been just released !
CyanogenMod ROM for Android, as always continues to excite its loyal fan, users and testers. The nightly builds have been doing rounds for sometime now but a stable release candidate promises a lot. CyanogenMod 7 RC brings Android 2.3 Gingerbread to more than 2 dozens supported devices.
CyanogenMod 7 (CM7) is build on Android 2.3.2 and that is just one update short of the latest update that Google had pushed (Android 2.3.3), but that mostly consists of NFC updates and most of the users should be pretty satisfied even without it..
What’s new in CM7? Well you will have a revamped and customized lockscreen, music player, calendar app, new notification widget, incognito mode for the web browser and the most important gesture support all along, among several other tweaks.
You can grab CM7 RC now via ROM Manager on your phone or via TDR mirror.
