LG Optimus S is one of the most popular entry-level touchscreen phone manufactured by LG. This handset originally runs on the Android 2.2 (FroYo) operating system. LG already managed to sell 1 million units of this device, within 40 days of its launch. After the launch of Android Gingerbread in December, LG clearly mentioned on their official Facebook page that, the phones in the Optimus S family will definitely get the Android Gingerbread update. But the actual date was not mentioned by them.

The guys at Android Central Forum, successfully managed to port the Gingerbread over to the Optimus S phones.
