Be it my personal choice, or of 1000’s of others like me (or maybe more), I have never looked beyond Avast Anti-Virus when it comes to the choice of securing my computer with the help of a free Anti-Virus solution. I have always found the installer to be smaller in size, the installation to be a breeze, the registration is pretty easy too, the updates are regular and fast and the most important things: the virus scan engine is lighter on the system memory and the protection is very much effective.
After initial rounds of beta testing, Avast 6 Anti-Virus is ready for download. The new updated version of one of the best and free Anti-Virus solutions is even more powerful now in defense to viruses. It now employes Sandboxing, a feature which allows your computer to run unknown and untrusted programs in an isolated space where they can’t harm your operating system or data.
Also in the paid version of Avast, there is a new feature called Safe Zone which is designed for increased protection of your data when transferring them to banks and other transaction websites. As with the previous versions, Avast 6 is easy on system resources and is compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
