Samsung Vibrant, which originally runs on the Android 2.1 (Eclair) operating system has finally got the CyanogenMod 7 “test release”. The Samsung Vibrant will never get the Android 2.3 OS, so this is definitely a good news for the Samsung Vibrant users, who wants to try the Android Gingerbread on their Vibrant smartphone.
Samsung Vibrant users should note that it is currently labeled as “Test Release” and should not expect all the features to work properly. This release contains a lot of bugs and is purposed for testing only. It’s not ready for daily use. It is recommend to wait for few days before installing it on your Vibrant smartphone. Currently, there are some bugs in the release, but their team is working on it.
If you are eagerly waiting to try the Android Gingerbread on your Samsung Vibrant smartphone, then head over to this thread at Cyanogenmod Forum and follow the instructions.
