Jolicloud, as a company providing personal cloud computing service, needs no introduction. Jolicloud was one pioneer company serving users, even before Google’s Chrome OS came into existence. Today Jolicloud announced several changes to its line of products.
First and foremost, the cloud computing OS will be rebranded from ‘Jolicloud’ to ‘JoliOS’, to avoid confusion with the other product in the company’s lineup, the online desktop utility. The online desktop from Jolicloud which is currently a Chrome Web Store app, lets you access your personal files and folders from a desktop browser. That app is scheduled to be released for a number of new platforms, including other browsers, iPad and Android.
The additional browsers on which it is expected to come include Firefox 4 and Safari 5. It will also land on iOS, but not as a native application rather as an ‘experimental HTML 5’ port.
