Here is another phone for which Android fanboys would kill for. HTC Thunderbolt is confirmed to ship on Verizon on March 17th.
HTC Thunderbolt went through months of rumored delays, then appeared on Best Buy and then it was finally announced. We even had a news of HTC thunderbolt ROM leak, just a day after its announcement. Looking into the fact that HTC Thunderbolt is Verizon’s first 4G phone, we do not blame all the hype behind this phone.
Verizon hasn’t announced the exact shipping date until now, but Mobilecrunch has reports from a third party retailer that the first shipments will begin on March 17th. As we had reported, the earlier launch date on Verizon was delayed due to some Skype related issue on the phone which led to carrier eventually removing Skype from the phone. We are still not sure if it packs Skype when it ships.
HTC Thunderbolt runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and carries with it 4G LTE connectivity. Here are the complete specs of the phone, if you are still unknown of it:
