Cupertino-based gadget giant, Apple, announced on delaying the sales of iPad 2 in Japan due to the earthquake, tsunami and human tragedy. For years, Japan has been stamped as one of the biggest consumer market in the Asian region with on-the-move tech enthusiasts. Thousands of lives have been lost which destruction to infrastructure amounting to billions.
With just a few weeks in the market, the iPad 2 has recorded record breaking sales in the U.S, but sad to hear on the massive destruction, Japan is to administer a delay in the iPad 2 launch.
Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris said:
We are delaying the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan while the country and our teams focus on recovering from the recent disaster. Our hearts go out to the people of Japan, including our employees and their families, who have been impacted by this terrible tragedy.
Earlier, Japan was to register sales of the iPad 2 which were slated to begin on March 25.
