Sony is reportedly readying a new “hybrid” Vaio laptop powered with Intel’s Thunderbolt technology. Recently unveiled Thunderbolt technology, previously known as Light Peak, is a new innovation which combines high-speed data transfer and high-definition video on a single cable.
Thunderbolt, which has already marked its presence in the tech world, developed with technical collaboration with Apple, made available first on Apple’s new line of MacBook Pro laptops. Integrating the new high speed connection type into its hardware, MacBook Pro Laptops would enhance capabilities of USB and FireWire connections.
Even though Sony has not confirmed on integrating the Thunderbolt, it did offer support for the company’s intelligent technology. Thunderbolt powered Vaio laptops would feature two components, being ultra-thin and sporting the thunderbolt.
