Wherever I look around today, majority of the people synonymous with the term ‘e-mail’ and actually using it use Gmail. Sleek interface, great spam filters, magic addons, cloud storage, enterprise email with Google Apps or whatever may the reason, a large portion of world today relies on Google and Gmail for their email communication.
If you are still living in pre-2004 era and not using Gmail, Gmail is again giving you reasons attractive enough to switch to it. As quoted from the official blog post:
Switching email accounts can be painful. The idea of losing years of accumulated contacts and messages can sound daunting, to say the least. Luckily, switching to Gmail doesn’t mean you have to start totally fresh.
Google currently support a large number of providers like Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail and so on, from where you can import all your existing contacts and email. Starting today it has announced addition of 14 more international domains to its list of supported email providers from where you can switch your email and contacts.
So if you have your email account with any of these email providers, you can easily import your email and contacts to Gmail and start using it without having to start afresh.
