With the release of Microsoft‘s newly introduced browser, Internet Explorer 9, the browser has managed to overtake a hefty number of users from its rivals specially Mozilla’s Firefox. Even though, the intelligent browser managed to grab a healthy number of users from Firefox’s bucket with IE9 downloaded over 2.35 million times in the first 24 hours since its release, last week. Here comes the tough competition, with less than 24 hours after its launch, Firefox 4 has managed to clock 4.7 million downloads, almost the double of what IE9 did.
Even though Firefox 4 has not been able to manage the same pace which Firefox 3 did which recorded 8 million copies in its 24-hour debut. Along with the much hyped browser launch, the event was also heavily promoted as ‘Download Day’.
One thing to note, Firefox 4’s day hasn’t ended yet. Stay tuned to our blog for a final stats.
