The beast smartphone HTC Thuderbolt was launched recently and the Android developers and fanboys cannot get enough of its massive specs. HTC Thunderbolt is equipped with 4.3 inch display, 480×800 display and 1 GHz snapdragon processor with 4G LTE connectivity.
One developer called Derek Rodriguez at XDA has released an Android Kernel for this phone which pulls the CPU speeds upto 1.8 GHz. Heard of any other phone with such blazing speed recently? When TheRealBeesly ran the Kernel through Quadrant tests, he got some scores which other phone owners would drool at:
This Kernel is a good as well as a bad news for HTC Thunderbolt owners: Good that it shows the power of the Android phone in the real world tests. Bad that you won’t want to overclock your phone to such high ends and so the Kernel is yet not available publicly.
But this test is a direct display of what the underlying hardware in HTC Thunderbolt is capable of. Even if cannot overclock this phone, you have couple of things that you can do pretty soon. First of all you can root HTC Thunderbolt to enjoy system wide customizations and if you are facing some audio problems with this phone, a fix is coming soon.
