With over 100,000 iPhone sales in little more than a week, Vodaphone seems to be as much of a contender to be the official iPad dealer in the U.K. as anyone else. While chief executive of Vodafone Vittorio Colao didn’t say much about talks with Apple, he did comment on the device itself by saying,
“I have not, personally, touched one but I really look forward to it. I believe it is going to be another important piece of the – mobile – data experience. I think anything that improves the customer experience with mobile data is welcome and as such I would be very interested in having it.”
Of course its all still speculation at this point with Apple’s official stance on international carriers being, “International carrier availability to be announced. 3G data plan may be sold separately.” However, with data service revenue exceeding £1 billion in three the last three months and total revenue of £11.5 billion for its fiscal third quarter, Vodaphone is definitely still in the running to get a shot at the coveted iPad carrier deal.
Which carrier(s) do you want the iPad to be available on in the U.K.? We want to hear what you think….
