Web analytics firm Quantcast released an interesting report recently showing Android steadily gaining marketshare as the iPhone’s slowly shrinks. While the huge green portion of the chart below shows how much of a grasp the iPhone OS has on the marketshare currently, it also highlights that Android has made remarkable strides and is quickly catching up…
While RIM and Android continue to grow steadily, iPhone OS actually seen a 3.2% marketshare loss in the past month. The result of this is the iPhone losing around 10% of the overall market during the same period Android devices grew 44%. Do you think this is an indication of Android truly having a chance at affecting the momentum the iPhone and upcoming iPad have behind them? Do you think Android can compete with iPhone OS on the long term?
