It’s no secret that Mac OS X has always been suffering from a lack of software support on the gaming front. However, it seems as if that is all start to change with the major recent announcement of game distribution platform Steam coming to Mac and now MMO Fallen Earth announcement they have made Mac compatible Beta of the title. Developers of the game, Icarus Studios have released the Mac compatible xScape platform of the original Fallen Earth title and done so with the help of open source software Wine. Kotaku reports a statement from Icarus says, “players to connect to the same live server as PC users with game features optimized for their resident operating system.”
Is it possible that the incredible success game developers have had on the iPhone OS through the App Store is encouraging developers to try to do the same on Mac OS X? We think so, and welcome it. What do you think?
