The MIX conference is a gathering of designers and developers who are building the world’s most innovative web sites. Site developers and designers take their web development and design skills to the next level at MIX10 by sharing and learning. The conference is currently in its fifth year; this year the event is spanned over three days from March 15th to March 17th in Las Vegas, USA.
The first day of MIX was filled with exciting news and presentations, two of which were related to Windows Phone 7 series that particularly caught my attention:
1. End-to-End Application Development Platform for Windows Phone 7 Series: Microsoft gave a treat to all developers eager to view the techniques and steps behind creating application for Windows Phone 7 series. During the MIX keynote, the company presented the outline of application development for Windows Phone 7 series. Silverlight features are used for rich application development and the XNA Framework is used for games; both of these are coupled to build visually brilliant (and profitable) applications.
2. Free Tools for Windows Phone 7 Series Developers and Designers: In order to assist developers in their efforts to create great Windows Phone 7 series applications, Microsoft made available some comprehensive tools of Support for Silverlight. These tools include Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone, Windows Phone 7 Series add-in to use with Visual Studio 2010 RC1, XNA Game Studio 4.0, Windows Phone 7 Series Emulator for application testing, and Expression Blend for Windows Phone CTP. These tools can be downloaded by clicking here.
Apart from these Windows Phone 7 series related events, countless other web-related events took place. MIX’10 had a wonderful start and I hope the remaining two days will be just as exciting as the first.
