On Thursday Apple released the latest updates for Logic Express and Logic Pro users (Apple’s professional recording software suite and digital audio workstation). Update 9.1.1, available via Software Update, includes a 138.8MB update for Logic Express, and a 191.8MB update for the full Logic Pro suite. Among the improvements and new features included in the Logic Express update are additional 64-bit native mode support and added compatibility with 64-bit AU (Audio Units) plugins. Express users will also be happy to learn that the update also includes the ability to have file names exceeding 32 characters as well as proper sample mapping when using Contiguous Zones in the EXS module. The majority of the updates to Logic Pro are basic stability improvements including added 64-bit support for Novation’s Automap and with Euphoniz Eucon protocal.
