The Japanese electronics giant, Sharp is coming out with 2 Android powered devices. I guess you could classify it as a MID, but it looks like a cross between netbook and handset. Japanese telecom operators AU will team up with Sharp to release The Sharp IS01 and the other is the Sharp JN-DK01. I dont know if the The JN-DK01 will be available for the public but it is developer’s edition of the Iso1. It will used to make changes and alterations to the OS and the device itself. The Sharp IS01 features a 5 inch, 960 x 480 pixel touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard. It will be powered by the now popular 1ghz Snapdragon processor, which we are seeing in all the high-end Android devices.
There is a small downside, the 5 jnch touchscreen will not support multi-touch, but it does have some other nice features that make up for that. The netbook/smartphone hybrid device will be running on Android 1.6. The IS01 will as of right now be exclusive to Japan, by way of mobile carrier KDDI AU. (via Sharp press release)
