If you tried opening the Apple online store today, you already know that it is down for mantainence. Similar is the case with Apple’s online stores around the world. Rumor has it that they are going to roll out the updated Macbook Pro models.
According to a report by AppleInsider a source, that has been quite reliable in the past, the new Macbook Pro models will have base configuration models. These models will utilize processors ranging from 2.4 GHz to 2.66 GHz, with 4 GB of RAM standard across the board.
As the processor speeds suggest, Apple may be using Intel’s new Core i5-520M (2.4 GHz), i5-540M (2.53 GHz) and i7-620M (2.66 GHz). All these ships had been rumored last month to be in short supply as Intel struggled to meet demand.
It has also been indicated that Apple may be using three different screen types on the new MacBook Pro models. The only news on these types is that they will be called Glossy, High Resolution Glossy, and High Resolution Glossy with Anti-Glare. It has also been rumored that Apple may offer solid-state drives of up to 512 GB with the update, up from a maximum of 256 MB in current models.
How much of all this true and how much is false, we will soon find out as soon Apple’s store become accessible again.
Update: The Store is online now. Apple refreshes MacBook Pro family with Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors.
