Owners of the original Xbox console that still play games online, or those that still play original Xbox Live games on their Xbox 360 console, will no longer be able to access online services through Live as of tomorrow, April 15, 2010.
Its not like the original Xbox live online services coming to an end was much of a surprise to anyone at this point as Microsoft let everyone know on February 5, 2010. However, it certainly didn’t come without any controversy, as I guess there are still a lot of people playing Halo 2. So if you haven’t gotten in enough Halo 2 or Battlefront 2 online multiplayer over the past 8 or so years, today will be your last day to do so.
Perhaps the only good news to come out of this announcement is the fact that many are speculating this might allow the current Xbox 360 Live to support new features such as the ability to have larger friend lists that exceed the current 100 limit.
Are you disappointed Microsoft has decided to cancel online services for original Xbox titles?
