Anyone that found themselves unable to part with their shiny new iPad on their way to Israel, will be happy to know that the country’s ban on Apples new tablet has finally been lifted.
This comes two weeks after the country put a ban on and began confiscating Apple’s new tablet out of fears that the iPad would “interfere with other wireless devices”. The Communications Ministry in Israel originally put the ban in place stating that the device did not meet European standards. Fortunately, the country will allow iPads into the country starting Sunday. The Communications Ministry had this to say about what lead to the lifting of the ban in a statement,
“Following the completion of intensive technical scrutiny, Israel Minister of Communications Moshe Kakhlon approved the import of (the) iPad to Israel,”
In total there had been 20 iPads confiscated over the 2 weeks that the iPad ban lasted. The Ministry also ordered the release of those devices in their statement.
