HTC Desire Coming to U.S. Cellular in July

There are a few things floating around the Android community this morning that caught my eye.  One of those things was the announcement from US Cellular that the HTC Desire would be released in July.  Now it’s interesting because US Cellular is not a big name carrier in north America.  Secondly everyone thought that the Desire would not be released in the U.S.  Finally, this is the first Android device to be released by US Cellular.  This was all confirmed yesterday by a wallpost on the US Cellular Facebook page.  us cellular logo launch htc desire

This is a good thing, really.  US Cellular operates on a CDMA network, so there is now a chance that it could be coming to Verizon or Sprint.  The HTC Desire is no joke either, it’s one of HTC’s flagship devices.  With 3.7″ inch AMOLED display, 5 megapixel camera, and the snazzy 1GHz Snapdragon processor, it’s already a well sought after device.  We also reported today the the Desire was successfully rooted, so if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one, you got something to look forward to.
