Summer this year is going to see many cellphone releases. Motorola’s CLIQ and Microsoft’s Kin One/Two will be only some of the phones that will be launched this summer. Today I learned of a new addition to the summer cellphone competition – myTouch 3G Slide.
myTouch 3G Slide is T-Mobile’s midrange smartphone release that will see a June release. The set will run version 2.1 of the Android mobile operating system. Key features of the handset include a large 3.4” screen, a full QWERTY keyboard, Swype® keyboard preloaded, 5MP camera with autofocus and flash, and thousands of Android Market apps.
T-Mobile has made Android in myTouch 3G Slide very customizable. Many custom applications area featured including Faves Gallery (a social aggregator), myModes (a profile manager), and the Genius Button application (that lets us perform almost any function using text-to-speech technology).
Music fans will appreciate that the phone has a 3.5mm jack. This will facilitate stereo music listening on any standard headphones.
Media synchronization will be supported by an application called doubleTwist that will simplify the entire synchronization process.
myTouch 3G Slide also boasts a wonderful battery life: 6 hours of talk time and 600 hours of stanby out of the box.
3G Slide will come with a memory card of 8GB capacity. This will give users all the space they need to save their data along with their media.
These features along with the overall facilitation of Google search and online media sharing will make myTouch 3G Slide the optimum competitor for all midrange smartphones. All we are waiting for now is its price to be announced.
